Kim Hines


Kim has been in professional theater for over 54 years. Starting as a child actor on the professional stage and attending theater school at the Minneapolis Children’s Theater Co., she has enjoyed a long career as an actor, director, and playwright in the Twin Cities.

As a playwright, her plays have been produced throughout most of the United States and Korea. Her play Home on the Mornin’ Train joins a canon of well-known plays for Young Adults. She’s had four mainstage productions and two national tours produced by the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Kim’s received many awards, grants, and commissions, including the Bush Fellowship for playwriting. She is an Alumni Core Writer of the Playwrights’ Center and a co-founder of the Many Voices Program for Playwrights of Color.

She runs a coaching and mentoring business for artists under Studio Egg, LLC.
